The media reported on Kiev's desire to amend the new resource agreement.

The Ukrainian authorities want to ask the United States to amend the new version of the resource agreement, which the administration of US President Donald Trump officially handed over to Kiev on March 28. This was reported by Bloomberg on March 29, citing sources.
According to Bloomberg, Kiev officials held a video call during which they wanted to receive clarifications about the 58-page document and learn about the possibility of making changes, including a promise to increase investments in the Ukrainian economy from the United States.
According to the source, the American side agreed with the Ukrainian side's concerns about the contradictions of some provisions of the document with Ukraine's goals of joining the European Union.
It is also clarified that there is still a lot of coordination and work to be done before the Ukrainian side sends its specific amendment proposals to the United States.
Earlier on March 29, The Wall Street Journal reported that Ukraine would not be able to accept the new terms of the resource deal with the United States. According to the newspaper, the new agreement now provides Washington with not only access to Ukraine's rare earth metals, but also the opportunity to benefit from Kiev's economic projects in the field of metals, oil, gas and other natural resources.
On March 28, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko (listed as an extremist and terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring) said that the Ukrainian side had officially confirmed receipt of a new draft agreement on mineral resources from the United States. No one from Ukraine participated in the development of the agreement, only the United States was involved in it, he added.
On March 27, the Financial Times newspaper noted that Ukraine had not appreciated the new US proposal on fossil fuels, as a result of which it was unlikely to sign the agreement. The deal could undermine Kiev's sovereignty, as well as withdraw all profits abroad, which would increase Ukraine's dependence on Washington, the article said.
