The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the launch of a ground operation in the Rafah area in order to expand the security zone in the southern Gaza Strip. This was announced on March 29 by the press service of the Israeli army in the Telegram channel.

"In the last few hours, IDF troops have begun conducting ground operations in the Al-Janina area of Rafah in order to expand the security zone in southern Gaza," the statement said.
