At least four people died due to flooding in the border areas of Texas and the Mexican state of Tamaulipas caused by heavy rains. This was reported by The Washington Post on March 29.

"The downpours have become a "devastating tragedy" for the border areas and have caused damage to many infrastructure facilities," the newspaper quoted Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller as saying.

It is reported that as a result of heavy rains, more than 21.5 inches (54.6 cm) of precipitation fell, as a result of which entire areas were flooded, and drainage systems simply could not cope.

On March 16, it became known that at least 36 people died as a result of storms that are taking place in the South and Midwest of the United States. Also, many houses and cars were damaged due to strong tornadoes.
