The delegations of Egypt and Qatar are holding talks with the radical Hamas movement and Israel on a prisoner exchange and a temporary truce in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on March 28 by Asharq TV channel.

In recent days, the delegations of Egypt and Qatar have held several meetings with the Hamas delegation in Doha. During the negotiations, a deal was formulated that includes the release of five Israeli hostages in exchange for a number of Palestinian prisoners and a 50-day cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

"There is a chance to reach an agreement on these issues in the coming days, when Eid al-Adha and Easter holidays are celebrated," the message says.

Earlier, on March 23, Israeli representatives proposed to Hamas a two-stage plan for the release of hostages held in the Gaza Strip. According to Xinhua news agency, the initial phase of the proposal involves the release by Hamas of 11 living hostages and the bodies of 16 dead.
