Brazilian President confirms plans to attend Victory Day celebrations in Moscow


Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has confirmed that he plans to come to Moscow to celebrate Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. He stated this on March 29 during a press conference that was broadcast on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
"I plan to come to Russia on May 9 to take part in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory in World War II," he said.
Lula da Silva also noted that during his visit he plans to hold talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Brazilian leader stressed that he intends to discuss the issue of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier, on March 24, Acting Israeli Ambassador Alexander Ben Zvi confirmed that representatives of the Jewish state would participate in the celebration on May 9 in Moscow. Simona Halperin, the Israeli Ambassador to Russia, will represent the country at the Victory Day Parade.
