Roskachestvo has revealed a new scheme of fraud with pets

The scammers began to pose as employees of the "housing inspectorate" and extort money, threatening to seize pets due to allegedly exceeding the "limit". This was announced by Roskachestvo on March 29.
The attackers call the apartment owners, find out the number of pets and threaten if it exceeds the arbitrarily established "new norm," the department said.
Roskachestvo stressed that the intimidation is reinforced by phishing sites that imitate the "new rules" from the Gosuslug portal, which is used to steal personal data. Scammers require a transfer of money to obtain permission to keep animals.
"If they called you, introduced themselves as employees of a government organization and demanded money for the maintenance of your pets, do not doubt that these are scammers. Stop talking immediately and contact the police," RIA Novosti quoted Sergey Kuzmenko, head of the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center, as saying.
The Department for the Organization of the Fight against the Illegal Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported on March 27 that fraudsters have come up with a new way to deceive Russians based on cryptocurrency using the screen demonstration function.
When registering with a cryptocurrency organization, scammers convince the victim to turn on the display screen on a smartphone, thereby gaining the opportunity to seize funds.
