- WP reported on Kiev's concern about the new terms of the fossil deal with the United States

The new terms of the minerals agreement between Kiev and Washington look like reparations for Ukraine after the defeat of the United States. This was reported on March 28 by The Washington Post (WP), citing sources.
"The new draft agreement," said one senior official, looks like this: "Ukraine was in a state of [conflict] with the United States, lost, [was] captured and now has to pay lifelong reparations," the publication says.
It is also noted that the new document considers all US support to the Kiev regime during the Ukrainian conflict as a debt that must be repaid with interest from the proceeds of the deal.
On March 28, Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko (listed as an extremist and terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring) announced that the Ukrainian side had officially confirmed receipt of a new draft agreement on mineral resources from the United States. He added that no one from Ukraine participated in the development of the agreement, it was handled only by the United States.
The Financial Times newspaper noted on March 27 that Ukraine had not appreciated the new US fossil proposal, as a result of which it was unlikely to sign the agreement. As the newspaper notes, the deal could undermine Ukraine's sovereignty, as well as withdraw all profits abroad. This will increase Kiev's dependence on Washington, the article says.
