Calculations of M-46 howitzers destroyed equipment and fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov direction

Crews of 130-millimeter towed M-46 howitzers of the 44th Army Corps of the North group of forces destroyed a platoon stronghold, military equipment and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kharkov direction during firing missions. This was announced on March 29 by the Ministry of Defense.

Gunners calculate the coordinates of targets based on reconnaissance and inflict fire damage on the enemy. The coordinates are sent directly to the artillery battery command. Combat missions are carried out around the clock and in any weather.

"A distinctive feature of this gun is its range. The 130 mm caliber was originally developed as a marine one. And a distinctive feature of naval guns is the long range, which allows us to perform tasks at greater depth behind enemy lines. With this gun, we can normally conduct counter—battery warfare, hitting targets deep in the enemy," said the battery commander with the call sign Pirate.

The M-46 howitzer crews are "flattening" the enemy on the approaches to the front edge. In the video, the calculation of a 130 mm howitzer works with the precision of a sniper rifle. During combat missions, artillery crews use high-explosive fragmentation munitions capable of easily hitting both manpower and armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The military personnel of the North group of forces do not stop there and continue to destroy newly identified targets. They are conducting a concentrated and motionless barrage of fire on the enemy. The calculations are weak and hit targets in a few shots, after which they quickly turn off and mask the guns, preventing the enemy from detecting firing positions.

The gunners carry out firing tasks to destroy armored vehicles, firepower, ammunition depots, fortified positions, mortar crews and manpower of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kharkov direction. The calculations are in constant combat readiness. Military personnel have to work in various conditions every day. At any time, they are ready to open fire and inflict fire damage on the enemy. The experience of calculations allows you to hit the first shell exactly on target. The high cohesion of the gunners allows them to carry out each other's tasks in emergency situations, the ministry noted.
