The ceasefire agreements in the Black Sea are almost ready, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said on March 28 during a press conference following a visit to Greenland.

"We have a ceasefire on energy infrastructure. We have a cease—fire on commercial vessels in the Black Sea, which I think is almost ready," he said.

He also added that when the Black Sea initiative is reached, Washington will begin work on the next stage of the ceasefire.

Speaking to reporters, Vance also said that Washington positively assesses the negotiation process in the field of the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, but adheres to the principle of "trust, but verify."Газета.Ru ".

During the talks on March 24 in Riyadh, Russia and the United States agreed to ensure safe navigation, exclude the use of force and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres praised the agreements reached. It was noted that the agreement on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea to protect civilian vessels and port infrastructure would make a significant contribution to global food security and global supplies.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on March 26 that the Black Sea initiative could be revived under a number of conditions. According to him, these are actually the same conditions that the Black Sea initiative included under Guterres' guarantee.
