A solemn ceremony was held in the port of Chennai in honor of the start of the Indra Navy - 2025 Russian-Indian naval exercises, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on March 29.

The ceremony took place on board the destroyer "Rana" of the Indian Navy. It was attended by diplomats of the Russian Embassy in India, representatives of the Navy of the host country, as well as crews of warships of the participating countries.

The exercise program includes coastal and marine stages. On shore, the ship's commanders will discuss in detail the interaction and coordination of actions at sea. In addition, mutual visits of crews to ships and sporting events are provided. It is specified that the marine part, scheduled for March 31, will be held in the waters of the Bay of Bengal.

Captain of the first Rank Alexey Antsiferov, who heads a detachment of ships of the Russian Navy, stressed that the upcoming exercises will be an opportunity to test their readiness to work together and solve problems at sea. He noted that these exercises will not only allow the navies of Russia and India to exchange experiences, but also strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

On March 20, the Ministry of Defense told about the joint PASSEX "Arabian Monsoon" type exercises conducted in the Arabian Sea between a detachment of ships of the Russian Navy and the Pakistani Navy. The ships of the two countries fulfilled the tasks of tactical maneuvering and repelled conditional attacks by unmanned boats of the "enemy". In addition, the sailors conducted an air defense exercise, during which Pakistani fighter jets and patrol aircraft simulated anti-ship missile launches.
