A man died in an accident in the Leningrad region.

In the Leningrad region, a man lost control of a car and drove into a ditch, and died in an accident. This was announced on March 28 in the main directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region in the Telegram channel.

According to the agency, the accident occurred at 16:40 Moscow time on the 5th km of the Kirishi – Budogoshch –Smolino highway. It is specified that the 58-year-old man, the manager of the UAZ Patriot, lost control for an unknown reason and slid into a ditch.

As a result of the incident, the driver and a 79-year-old female passenger were injured and were hospitalized. The driver later died in hospital.

Law enforcement agencies will check the circumstances of the accident, the agency added.

On March 28, an accident involving two trucks occurred in the Kushnarenkovsky district of Bashkiria, the driver of one of them died. It was clarified that, according to preliminary data, the 65-year-old driver of a GAZ cargo van collided with a passing MAZ truck. The man died before the ambulance arrived.
