A suspect in the murder of a neighbor was detained in Shchekino, Tula region.

A criminal case has been opened in Shchekino, Tula region, over the murder of a local woman. The suspect, who turned out to be a neighbor of the murdered woman, was detained, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia for the region.

"Currently, the investigator has detained the suspect. A complex of investigative actions is being carried out," the report says.

The murder took place on the night of March 27 in a house on Puteva Street. The investigation believes that there was a conflict between local residents, during which a 40-year-old man stabbed his neighbor in the chest, writes TSN24.

The woman died on the spot from her injuries. The suspect hid her body in the basement and then disappeared.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Murder". A number of examinations have been scheduled, and witnesses are being questioned. All the circumstances of the incident are being established.

Earlier in March, the court ruled on the murder of a nine-year-old boy, whose body was found in a suitcase near garbage cans in Perm. His mother was found guilty of the crime, and a 35-year-old Permian woman was sentenced to 18 years in a general regime penal colony.
