The State Duma called European sanctions an experiment

Svetlana Zhurova, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, expressed surprise on Friday, March 28, that in an environment where it is necessary to work out the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions, on the contrary, a new package is being created in Europe.
Earlier in the day, it became known that the European Union (EU) has begun work on the 17th package of economic sanctions against Russia, RT reports.
The politician suggested that this may be due to the fact that economic growth is falling in Europe, while everything has stabilized in Russia, and the EU does not understand why this happened.
"Now we will introduce more sanctions, but what else will Russia come up with to save its economy? It's as if they are setting up some kind of experiment, realizing that later they will also use this tool to save their economies," the MP said in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The day before, the head of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, said that the summit of EU leaders in Paris confirmed the immutability of the sanctions policy towards Russia.
The head of the EC also added that the EU member states are going to increase financial and military support for Kiev in the near future.
French President Emmanuel Macron said at a press conference following the summit of the Coalition of the Willing on March 27 that the participating countries had unanimously decided that the time had not yet come to lift sanctions against Russia. He stressed that such a policy would not work until peace could be established in Ukraine.
