The European Union (EU) may reduce imports of agricultural products from Ukraine from June this year. This was reported on March 28 by Agence France-Presse (AFP), citing European Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Christophe Hansen.

"The EU plans to restrict imports of agricultural products from Ukraine starting in June," the publication's Telegram channel says.

However, details about the implementation of the measures are not specified.

In October last year, the deputy of the National Assembly of Paris, Jordan Guitton, said that the supply of sugar beet from Ukraine has a detrimental effect on the agricultural sector of France. He noted that the EU allows the import of beets that do not meet the standards set for the producers of the product.

Earlier, in 2023, the European Commission (EC) imposed restrictions on the import of four types of agricultural products from Ukraine to several border countries of the union. In April of the same year, it was reported that the duty-free import of Ukrainian agricultural products would be extended until June 5, 2025, but would have its limitations on the possible volume of imported products.
