The Central Bank of the Russian Federation indicated a 1.4-fold increase in the issue of Mir cards in 2024

The issue of the Mir payment system increased 1.4 times over the period of 2024, and also reached more than 400 million cards. This was confirmed on March 28 by the data of the annual report on the website of the Central Bank of Russia.

It is noted that the amount of purchases paid with these cards exceeded 42 trillion rubles. In addition, 2/3 of all card transactions were carried out using Mir cards, where their volume amounted to 105.9 trillion rubles.

At the same time, the Central Bank clarified that the payment system has a wide range of functionality, including a wide range of non-financial services.

According to a report last year, the number of Mir cards increased 1.6 times in 2023, and their share in the total issue increased to 55% in 12 months. At that time, it was clarified that among the transactions with Mir cards, more than 80% in terms of quantity accounted for the payment of goods and services.
