Citrus, floral, woody, fruity and spicy notes were among the top 5 most popular flavors among Russians. This is stated in the results of a study by analysts of the Golden Apple, which were reviewed by Izvestia on March 30.
At the same time, women most often choose floral, fruity, citrus and woody perfumes. Men are woody, leathery, citrus, and spicy.
Experts have found that perfume preferences can change with age. For example, girls from 18 to 35 prefer floral, fruity, citrus, and gourmet notes, while respondents over 35 are increasingly referring to woody scents along with citrus and floral scents.
At the same time, the most popular perfume product turned out to be eau de parfum — on average, 60% of people prefer it. Toilet water is in second place: 45% of women and 51% of men choose it. Perfumes are in third place: every third person uses them (36% of respondents).
However, 61% of Russians said that when choosing a perfume as a gift for a woman, it is worth giving preference to a 50 ml bottle. The vast majority of men prefer 100 ml bottles (65%). The 15 ml travel format was chosen by 14% of women and 11% of men.
Only 8% of Russians noted that they hear the scent of their perfume on themselves for a long time — the rest notice it either immediately after application (44%), or some time later, but it depends on the specific product (41%). Another 7% admitted that they never smell perfume on themselves.

Reformatsky RTU MIREA Andrey Dorokhov said that fake perfumes can be unpredictable in use and pose a serious danger to human health. He noted that real perfumes undergo strict safety tests. In turn, fake perfumes, due to the lack of control over the production process, contain substances that can decompose under the influence of light, heat or air and form harmful compounds.
