25 residents of the Kursk region returned to Russia from the territory of Ukraine

25 residents of the Kursk region were returned to Russia from the territory of Ukraine. This was announced on March 28 by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatiana Moskalkova, in the Telegram channel.
"25 residents of the Kursk region, who were taken by the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the Sumy region, are finally returning home after a long separation and anxious waiting," Moskalkova wrote.
According to her, thanks to difficult negotiations with the Ukrainian side, Russia was able to return quite a lot of elderly citizens, and one woman is 92 years old.
In addition, Moskalkova also stressed that the Russian Federation will continue to insist on the return of all 72 residents of the Kursk region remaining in Ukraine.
"We sincerely thank the ICRC, the Russian Red Cross, the competent authorities, the acting Governor of the Kursk region, as well as the Republic of Belarus for its mediation mission," the Commissioner for Human Rights added.
On September 24, 2024, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik, announced that the Russian Federation had a list of residents of the Kursk region who were being held by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), and the list had been handed over to law enforcement agencies. The ambassador added that the document was compiled based on reports from relatives of missing residents of the region.
