Deputy Mayor of Moscow Sergunina spoke about the popularity of cultural volunteering

More than 33 thousand members of the Mosvolonter team have chosen a cultural direction for themselves. This was told by Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina.

"They participate in the organization of festivals and forums, decode audio recordings from museum collections, help restorers, and conduct guided tours. Every year, more and more citizens join the movement," Sergunina noted.

The cultural field of volunteering is one of the five most popular in Moscow. Volunteers work in parks, libraries, and farmsteads, among others. They accompany guests, share useful information, moderate meetings, conduct master classes, develop new and complement existing tourist routes. In addition, volunteers are putting monuments in order and digitizing archival documents.

Today, Mosvolonter develops over 10 areas of volunteerism, including patriotic, event-based, social and environmental. About 1.4 million citizens have become participants in volunteer projects and initiatives.
