A new government has been formed in Greenland

Greenland's four parliamentary parties have signed a coalition agreement for the upcoming election period, and the government has begun work, the Danish public broadcaster DR reported on March 28.
In addition to the Democrats party that won the election, the government also includes the political forces People's Community, Forward and Solidarity. They agree that the issue of the island's independence should be considered with caution. In addition, the parties will work to "expand opportunities for self-determination" and seek to revise the law on self-government.
"Denmark continues to be responsible for about 30 business areas in Greenland. Another goal of the new government of Greenland is to start negotiations with Denmark to ensure more equal cooperation," the publication says DR.
The elections to the Parliament of Greenland were held on March 11. The Democrats won 29.9% of the vote, which turned out to be more than 9% higher than in 2021. As the British newspaper The Times pointed out, the victory of the Democrats party showed that the locals do not want Greenland to join the United States, as American leader Donald Trump wants.
