- The political scientist pointed out the inevitability of data leakage from the chat of the US administration

The data leak from the secret chat of the US administration had to happen one way or another. Dmitry Drobnitsky, an American political scientist, told Izvestia about this on March 28.
"The fact is that [US President] Donald Trump's team operates in isolation from the state apparatus, over his head. The state apparatus is not trusted, they are trying to dismantle it. Therefore, normal information transmission channels cannot be used when planning something important, because they are much less secure," the expert explained.
Drobnitsky recalled that there have already been cases in the United States when, for example, information about raids on illegal immigrants was "leaked" to local authorities, and they hid migrants.
Sooner or later, he noted, there had to be some kind of gap in the process of Trump's struggle with the state apparatus. The expert is sure that much will depend on the behavior of the American leader: he will either "fall for" pressure, as in his first term, or continue to "swing a saber," and then he will have to resort to more serious repression.
"In the first case, the Trump presidency can be carefully ended, disappointing results can be summed up, and in the second case, it is the development and aggravation of the civil conflict that has matured in the United States," Drobnitsky concluded.
The scandalous publication of the Atlantic magazine discussing attacks on the Houthis by the US administration became known on March 25. Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of the magazine, said that on March 11, he received a request to connect to Signal from a user under the nickname Mike Waltz. Two days later, Goldberg received a notification about being added to a group chat called "Houthis small group." Then, on March 15, a user named Pete Hegseth posted a message that contained details of the upcoming strikes against the Houthis.
Later, Trump said he was not upset about the scandal with the leak of data on strikes in Yemen and considered the incident an "insignificant glitch." Later, he also announced that he was not going to fire Hegseth because of the incident, and noted that Waltz had assumed responsibility for the incident.
