In order to build a happy relationship, you need to be able to negotiate and hear each other, psychologist Yulia Vorobyeva told Izvestia on March 28.

"The secret of success lies in the fact that relationships should be built by independent adults who understand what they are building them for, who understand what responsibility is, who are able to negotiate, hear each other and, most importantly, understand how to interact with others," the expert noted.

She clarified that it is important to share responsibility and agree on this in advance before problems occur.

"Now it is fashionable to consider the relationship from the point of view of victim — aggressor: abuse, gaslighting. We flaunt psychological terms when we diagnose each other, but does it help to establish a relationship? Only by accusing and labeling, we destroy everything," Vorobyova stressed.

At the same time, she explained that the basis of any relationship is a balance of exchange of any actions, support towards each other.

The psychologist also drew attention to the fact that understanding each other's strategies is the key to good communication.
