Dealers have kept the old prices for cars with lower mileage and age

Over the year, the average cost of used crossovers in the Russian secondary market has hardly changed. At the same time, while dealers have seen a decrease in the average age and mileage of cars in all price categories, private sellers, on the contrary, have become higher. In February 2025, as a year earlier, the Volkswagen Tiguan (1.3 million rubles) became the most popular crossover in the category from 800 thousand to 1.5 million rubles. In this segment, the average age of cars from dealers was 9.9 years, and the average mileage was 134.6 thousand km (for private sellers — 12.2 years and 170 thousand km).
In the segment from 1.5 to 3 million rubles in February of this year, users were most often interested in the Volkswagen Tiguan of the second generation (1.26 million rubles). In 2024, this model was also the top favorite in the category. The average age of cars from dealers is 5.6 years, and the mileage is 76.6 thousand km (for private dealers — 8.7 years and 127.2 thousand km).
The top crossovers from 3 to 5 million rubles are now headed by the BMW X5 model of the third generation, with an average price of 3.94 million rubles. A year ago, the Toyota RAV4 was the leader. For dealers, the average age of cars in the segment will be 4.3 years, mileage — 52.4 thousand km (for private dealers — 6.5 years and 95 thousand km).
The first in the segment starting from 5 million rubles, as last year, was the BMW X5 crossover of the fourth generation. In February, it sold for an average of 7.8 million rubles. The average age of cars on the "secondary market" in this category at dealers was 3.4 years, mileage — 37.6 thousand km (for private owners — 5.4 years and 73.7 thousand km).
An increase in Chinese crossovers was recorded in all price segments over the year. The share of such cars increased most noticeably in the category from 1.5 to 3 million and amounted to 21.1% (4.1% more than in February 2024). German cars, as in the previous year, continue to lead in the segments of 3 and 5 million rubles (with a share of 34 and 69%, respectively). Japanese crossovers hold the lead in the price categories from 800 thousand and 1.5 million rubles (with a share of 33.4 and 31.3%, respectively).
On March 28, it was reported that the Ford Mustang is most popular among Russians among convertible cars in 2025, followed by Mercedes-Benz SLK and SL, as well as BMW 3 and 4 series.
On March 27, it became known that in 2024, among the new passenger cars sold in Russia, white-bodied cars became the most common. Gray comes in second place, and black came in third.
