The Valdai 12 truck received a new version with a blade

The Valdai 12 bonnetless truck has received a new modification, and a compact model of a combined road vehicle (KDM) has been built on its chassis. The Modern Transport Technologies company was engaged in the project jointly with the KDM Plant, a manufacturer of municipal equipment, according to the distributor's message, which was received by Izvestia on March 28.

In winter, the car is used to remove snow and ice chips, treat surfaces with anti-icing reagents, and fill icy areas with sand. In the warm season, KDM carries out watering and washing of the roadway, garbage collection from the carriageway, washing of road signs and other elements of the road infrastructure.

To combat snow, a rotary blade specially designed for compact KDM with a width of the processed strip from 2.7 to 3.2 m was used. The working angle of the blade is 30 °. Tanks for liquid reagents (4 cubic meters) and an automatic dosing system are provided. The working speed of the KDM is 20-40 km/h, and when working with a sweeping brush — up to 25 km/h. The attachments are controlled from a remote control in the driver's cabin.

The KDM is based on the shortest version of the Valdai 12 chassis (wheelbase — 3310 mm). The car is equipped with a YaMZ-534 diesel engine (169 hp; 662 Nm) with a 6-speed gearbox, a three-seat cabin. The customer can choose one of the body and blade options.: They can be made of either metal or modern composite materials.

In addition to KDM, industrial goods, insulated, refrigerated and multi-temperature vans, Euro platforms, flatbed trucks with CMU, dump trucks, tow trucks, garbage trucks, bunkering trucks, tankers and other variants of special equipment are produced on the Valdai 12 chassis.

On March 25, a new modification of special equipment with a crane manipulator unit was presented on the basis of the Valdai 12 chassis. The vehicle is designed for cargo transportation and handling operations without additional equipment.

On March 20, production of the new Valdai 18 bonnetless truck started in Nizhny Novgorod. It is designed for short- and medium-haul transportation, public utilities, and solving various economic and business tasks in an urban environment.
