Experts named the most popular convertibles in Russia
The Ford Mustang is most popular among Russians among convertible cars in 2025, followed by Mercedes-Benz SLK and SL, as well as BMW 3-series and 4-series. This was reported to Izvestia on March 28 by Avito Auto experts, who studied the dynamics of the offer of used convertibles and the interest in them from users of the platform.
A Ford Mustang costs 3.3 million rubles on average. Mercedes-Benz SLK — 1.55 million rubles, and SL — 3.29 million rubles. A BMW 3-series convertible sells for an average of 1.96 million rubles, and a 4-series for 4.45 million rubles. Following them in the ranking are the BMW Z4, Peugeot 307 and Porsche 718 Boxter, as well as the Honda S660 and Mazda MX-5.
According to analysts, the greatest user interest among convertibles in 2025 is accounted for by BMW and Mercedes-Benz models — 20% each. Ford (9%), Porsche (4.6%) and Peugeot (4.2%) were also in the top.
Experts said that the convertible market shows a pronounced seasonality. From May to August, the choice of such cars is the widest. This period also accounts for the maximum demand, so the most attractive offers, especially at a favorable price, quickly find their owners.
Thus, the growth of interest in convertibles begins in the spring: in March 2024, compared with February, it increased by 20.3%, and in the same months of 2023 — by 23%. Interest peaks in the summer months: in July 2024, it was almost 1.9 times higher than in January. The supply dynamics show a similar pattern.
Earlier that day, auto expert Alexander Kovalev said that among the crossovers on the secondary market in the segment of up to 1.5 million rubles, the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta and Kia Sportage, as well as Geely Coolray, are the best choices.
The day before, it was reported that in 2024, among the new passenger cars sold in Russia, white-bodied cars became the most common. Gray comes in second place, and black came in third.
