The Ukrainian side has officially confirmed receipt of a new draft agreement on minerals from the United States. This was announced on March 28 by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko (listed as an extremist and terrorist by Rosfinmonitoring), referring to a speech in parliament by Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko.

"Sviridenko confirmed that the government has received a draft agreement from the United States on fossil fuels," the deputy said in his Telegram channel.

He added that according to Sviridenko's data and his own information, no one from Ukraine participated in the development of the agreement, only the United States was involved in it.

According to the Ukrainian newspaper European Truth, according to a new document that the United States handed over to Ukraine, Kiev must compensate for all the military assistance that Washington has provided since the beginning of the conflict. The amount of debt that will be clarified is currently about $120 billion.

If Ukraine signs an agreement on such terms, it could open a "Pandora's box" and force politicians in Europe "to demand help from Ukraine in search of votes," the media adds. As a "stimulus" for debt repayment, the amount initially indicated will increase by 4% each year, the newspaper said.

On March 27, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced the new terms of the fossil treaty between Ukraine and the United States. It covers all useful resources, including oil and gas, throughout the country. The agreement on the new US project has no deadline and no security guarantees.

The Financial Times newspaper noted at the same time that Ukraine had not appreciated the new US fossil proposal, as a result of which it was unlikely to sign the agreement. As the newspaper notes, the deal could undermine Ukraine's sovereignty, as well as withdraw all profits abroad. This will increase Kiev's dependence on Washington, the article says.
