- Karasin reported on the discussion of the Rosselkhoznadzor's connection to SWIFT in Riyadh

At the talks in Riyadh, Russia and the United States discussed access not only to the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, but also Russia's access to ports for exporting agricultural products, as well as the connection of the Rosselkhoznadzor to the SWIFT payment system. This was announced on March 28 by Grigory Karasin, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, in an interview with the Rossiya 24 channel.
"This set of questions was raised, and the Americans reacted calmly to it," he said.
Karasin added that the specific timing of the Rosselkhoznadzor's return to the payment system in Saudi Arabia was not specified, as were the ways to monitor the safety of navigation in the Black Sea.
The senator described the talks in Riyadh as calm and constructive. He stated that such meetings of expert delegations are likely to continue.
"It is possible to work with the current team of the United States in principle — [they] listen, perceive, and counteract some of their positions," Karasin said.
A day earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow and Washington do not yet have exact dates for new bilateral contacts. At the same time, he stressed that the dialogue between the Russian Federation and the United States will definitely continue.
The Russian-American expert group talks in Riyadh were held on March 24. The parties agreed to ensure safe navigation, exclude the use of force and prevent the use of commercial vessels for military purposes in the Black Sea. At the same time, for the relevant measures to take effect, the West will need to lift some of the anti-Russian sanctions that hinder international trade in food and fertilizers.
