At least 50 people were injured in the collapse of a building under construction during the earthquake in Bangkok. CNN reported this on March 28, citing Thai authorities.

"One person was killed and 50 others were injured," the statement said.

At least 67 people are trapped under the rubble of the building, the Khaosod newspaper said.

Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt also reported damage to many high-rise buildings in the Thai capital, according to the Reuters news agency. He said that the authorities were still clarifying the extent of the damage and urged residents to be careful.

Earthquakes of magnitude 7.7 and 6.4 were recorded in neighboring Myanmar earlier in the day, and subsequently fluctuations reached Bangkok and its environs.

Thai Prime Minister Phethong Thang Shinawatra has declared a state of emergency in the country's capital. The metro is not working in the city, there are interruptions in communication. The Russian Embassy in the country clarifies the situation regarding possible victims among Russians.
