The creative industries provide a powerful impetus for the development of a new economy and business, said Vera Podguzova, Senior Vice President and Director of External Relations at PSB.

At the International Arctic Forum "The Arctic — the Territory of Dialogue" in Murmansk, she recalled that on February 5, the federal law on the development of creative industries came into force. "It is very important to support its main message — the development of creative industries at the regional level," said Podguzova, speaking at the session "Northern Creative Way: Territory
business opportunities."

The session participants presented successful cases that the Arctic regions have implemented in their territories.

For example, Murmansk, the Vice President of the PSB continued, is actively developing thanks to investments in the creative economy, which has led to the development of business and tourism, including international. "In Murmansk, thanks to measures to support the creative sector, special attention to the preservation of the cultural code, the peculiarities of this northern region, creative entrepreneurship has managed to create a unique cultural and business environment that attracts attention to the region in both tourism and business. Creative industries develop small and medium—sized businesses — this is a tool that makes it possible to attract special attention to products and services from neighboring regions and the international community," Podguzova added.

She stressed that the creative industries development program is part of Russia's national development strategy and is aimed at strengthening the economy, preserving cultural heritage and increasing competitiveness.
