- The Federation Council called Macron's plans to send military personnel to Kiev an imitation of violent activity

The words of French President Emmanuel Macron about plans to send a military contingent to Ukraine together with the UK are an imitation of violent geopolitical activity. Andrey Klimov, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, told Izvestia on March 28.
On March 27, a summit of the "coalition of the willing" was held in Paris, dedicated to the issue of European security guarantees for Kiev. Following their results, Macron said that France and the United Kingdom had instructed their foreign ministers to develop appropriate measures within three weeks, including sending military personnel to strategically important points in Ukraine. The French leader noted that they would not represent peacekeepers, nor would they replace militants on the front line.
"The Europeans and their British colleagues are imitating violent geopolitical activity," the senator noted.
He added that Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer should be dealing with the problems of their own countries, which they themselves have driven into a dead end of socio-economic development.
"And now [they] also want to start a big war in Europe. Our General Staff knows how to respond to this, and they are also well-known from the point of view of our political initiatives. This is [Russian President] Vladimir Putin's initiative to create a unified, equal system of collective security and cooperation throughout the Eurasian continent," Klimov said.
On March 28, Izvestia published footage of protests in Paris against the "coalition of the willing," as well as the French president's policy towards Ukraine. The demonstration was organized by the Republican People's Union (UPR) party and its head Francois Asselino. People took to one of the Paris squares with posters "No to Macron, Yes to peace", "Long live peace!".
