Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will hold talks in Moscow with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which ways out of the Ukrainian crisis will be discussed. As reported on March 28 by the Russian Foreign Ministry, the official visit of the Chinese colleague is scheduled for April 1.
"On April 1, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov will hold talks in Moscow with a member of the Politburo, head of the office of the CPC Central Committee Commission on Foreign Affairs, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi," the ministry's website says.
It is specified that the parties will discuss bilateral relations, as well as "the most pressing issues on the international agenda, including the prospects for resolving the crisis around Ukraine."
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin also had a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping. As reported by the Xinhua news Agency, Xi Jinping called Moscow and Beijing good friends who always support each other's development. The Kremlin noted that the Chinese leader expressed support for the dialogue that had begun between Moscow and Washington. During a long conversation, Putin and Xi Jinping discussed further strategic cooperation between Russia and China, as well as ways to expand cooperation useful for both countries in investment, trade, economy, culture, sports and education.
