The farewell to Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak takes place on March 28 in Crimea.

His relatives, friends and colleagues came to say goodbye to the correspondent who died in the special military operation zone.

Fedorchak's death in the SVO zone became known on March 24. He worked in the Luhansk People's Republic and the Kharkiv region. Fedorchak's latest report on the situation in the Kupyansk area aired on March 23. A memorial was erected in the Izvestia News Center building as a sign of mourning for the deceased correspondent.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Fedorchak's death in the special operation zone is a new crime of the Ukrainian leadership against freedom of speech and it will not be forgotten.

Vladimir Tyulin, General Director of Izvestia, in turn, called Fedorchak's death a terrible loss and noted the talent of the journalist, who "should have had many more stories ahead."
