Ukraine has not appreciated the new U.S. fossil proposal, which makes it unlikely to sign the agreement. This was reported on March 27 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper, citing Ukrainian sources.

As the newspaper notes, the deal could undermine Ukraine's sovereignty, as well as withdraw all profits abroad. This will increase Kiev's dependence on Washington, the article says.

"One of them described the conditions as "unfair," the other called them "robbery," the newspaper writes.

It is noted that the third interlocutor of the publication reported on Ukraine's request for help from a group of legal consultants in order to study the document and prepare a counterproposal.

On March 27, Verkhovna Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced the new terms of the fossil treaty between Ukraine and the United States. It covers all useful resources, including oil and gas, throughout the country. The agreement on the new US project has no deadline and no security guarantees.

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky were supposed to conclude a deal on rare earth metals on February 28, but as a result of an altercation at the White House, the signing was canceled. On March 2, the head of the Kiev regime said he was still ready to sign the deal and hoped to save relations with the United States.
