Last week, eight employees of the United Nations Relief Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) were killed as a result of renewed Israeli army airstrikes on Gaza. This was announced on March 27 by the head of the agency Philippe Lazzarini.

"Last week marked the deadliest day in the last 1.5 years of the war, with more than 500 people reportedly killed, including women and children. Eight more UNRWA staff
they were killed only in the last week," he wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Lazzarini also noted that the shelling by Israeli troops continues. According to him, more than 400 thousand people were forced to leave their homes due to the evacuation order of the Israeli authorities.

In addition, he said that humanitarian aid has not been received in Gaza for more than three weeks, although 500-600 trucks arrived in the enclave every day during the truce.

"Parents can't find food for their children. The patients were left without medicines. Prices are rising rapidly. Hunger is increasing, and the risk of spreading diseases is increasing," Lazzarini said.

On March 27, the UNRWA press service reported that hundreds of people, including more than 180 children, had died after Israeli forces resumed bombing the Gaza Strip.

On March 18, the Israel Defense Forces announced the resumption of military operations against the Palestinian Hamas movement in Gaza. As a result of the Israeli airstrikes, more than 1,000 people were injured, and the death toll increased to 310. The media also said that Israel had warned the administration of US President Donald Trump in advance about the resumption of attacks on Gaza.
