On March 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense showed footage of the liberation of the village of Malye Shcherbaki in the Zaporizhia region by assault units of the 108th Guards Airborne Assault Regiment of the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division (Gornaya).

It is specified that at the initial stage, the Novorossiysk paratroopers, using the results of fire damage by aircraft, artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), carrying out assault operations, captured part of the settlement. Having met fierce resistance from the fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the assault units, conducting reconnaissance and search operations, moved from shelter to shelter, knocked out the enemy from their previously prepared positions.

The ministry clarified that the newly discovered firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed by operators of FPV drones on fiber and dropping ammunition from quadrocopters. Later, the paratroopers of the 108th regiment continued their assault on the settlement, the Russian Defense Ministry added.

It is noted that the enemy, who was in shelters, as well as in the basements of houses, made an unsuccessful attempt to hold the settlement, but the paratroopers, coming close, destroyed the enemy who was there. The Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters transported reserves, some of which were destroyed by artillery strikes and UAVs of Russian military personnel.

According to the ministry, part of the enemy was destroyed by Russian soldiers, and the other part was captured. Later, the paratroopers carried out a complete sweep of the village.

The Ministry of Defense announced the liberation of the village of Malye Shcherbinki on March 25. At the same time, it was reported about the liberation of the settlement of Mirnoye in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).
