Starovoit highly appreciated the importance of Lavna for the Murmansk transport hub

The launch of the Lavna coal terminal will give the Murmansk transport hub the status of one of the leading logistics hubs in the Russian Federation. This was announced on March 27 by Russian Transport Minister Roman Starovoit.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has launched the first loading of the Lavna coal terminal in the Murmansk Region. Then he noted that the opening of the terminal would be a good contribution to creating additional opportunities for the coal mining industry.
"With the launch of Lavna, the Murmansk transport hub will become one of the leading logistics hubs in Russia, and will also contribute to the development and provision of cargo traffic along the Great Northern Sea Route," Starovoit said.
He called Lavna one of the largest construction projects in the Russian Federation, adding that the volume of investments exceeded 87 billion rubles. According to him, this is fully refundable commercial financing.
The construction of the Lavna port began in 2021. Its main activity will be coal transshipment: the production capacity of the coal terminal will be 18 million tons of coal per year. In February of this year, it was reported that the port was 90% built.
