Reuters reported on the suspension of US contributions to the WTO

The United States has suspended payments of contributions to the World Trade Organization (WTO) due to the policy of American President Donald Trump aimed at reducing government spending. This was reported on March 27 by the Reuters news agency, citing three sources from the WTO.
According to two of them, the US representative informed the WTO budget meeting on March 4 that payments to the budget for 2024 and 2025 had been suspended pending a review of contributions to international organizations, the dates of which have not yet been set.
According to the newspaper, the Trump administration plans to withdraw from some global organizations, such as the World Health Organization, and reduce contributions to others.
The Associated Press reported on March 18 that the United States plans to cut from 50,000 to 60,000 jobs in the Ministry of Defense. According to the plan, the Pentagon currently intends to reduce 6,000 positions per month. The initiative is part of a broader campaign by the Department of Public Administration Efficiency (DOGE), run by billionaire Elon Musk, to reduce government spending.
