The jury of the Moscow City Court has issued a guilty verdict against 10 former members of the Taganskaya organized criminal group (OCG). This was announced on March 27 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
Dmitry Yukhnevich was found guilty by the jury of the murder of businessman Alexei Pokrovsky, but taking into account mitigating circumstances. The jury questioned the involvement of Gennady Lukyanov and Sergey Shcherbakov in this case. Valery Zhuravlev Yukhnevich was acquitted in the murder of Rospishcheprom CEO.
In addition, the jury found all the defendants in the case guilty of creating an organized criminal group or participating in it. They also established that Igor Zhirnokleev was the leader of the group. He was found guilty of organizing the murder of lawyer Natalia Vavilina. He was also found guilty of complicity in the murder of crime boss Aslan Usoyan (Ded Hassan). He was handing guns to the killers.
Also, all members of the group were found guilty of illegal possession of weapons, only five of them were found to deserve leniency under this article. The Moscow City Court will announce the defendants' dates on April 9.
Grigory Rabinovich, the leader of the Taganskaya organized crime group, who was detained in 2019, died in a pre-trial detention center in Moscow on June 26, 2024. According to the Izvestia source, the cause of death of the defendant, known in criminal circles as Grisha Tagansky, could be a heart attack. The man died at night in the "Matrosskaya Tishina", before he lived to see the trial.
