The expert stated that the United States is not ready for war with China

The United States cannot afford to unleash a military confrontation with China due to the risk of escalation, they need an international detente. This was announced on March 27 by Dmitry Suslov, Deputy Director of the Center for Integrated European and International Studies at the National Research University Higher School of Economics (HSE), an expert at the Valdai Club.
He pointed out that there is a "Crisis of Atlanticism" in NATO: the alliance is in a state of crisis and will change and weaken in the coming years, but it will remain.
"What do we see today? This is, of course, the "Crisis of Atlanticism" in its understanding of the Cold War and the post-Cold War period. This is the end of Atlantic unity, but not the end of the Atlantic community, if we understand by it the hegemonic alliance of the United States and Europe," Suslov said during a discussion on the topic "The crisis of growth in NATO or the end of Atlantic unity?".
At the same time, the crisis itself is formed by five trends, one of which is Washington's need for a "pause in the great-power confrontation."
"They need to put this confrontation in some kind of manageable framework, to prevent its sharp escalation, because right now the United States is not ready for a direct clash with China," he said.
In particular, according to the expert, the United States is "enormously losing" to China in terms of the pace of naval development, in addition, China is catching up with the United States in the field of nuclear weapons.
Earlier, on March 5, the Chinese Embassy in Washington reported that China was ready to "fight to the end" in any conflict with the United States. The mission also noted that the right decision for Washington would be to consult with Beijing on an equal footing.
