On Monday, March 31, Russian schools and colleges will host another lesson from the "Talking about the important" series. The lesson, dedicated to the celebration of the 185th anniversary of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's birth, is dedicated to the role of art in people's lives. The central figure of the occupation is "Service to creativity. Why do people need art?" The famous composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky will become famous. 2025 marks the 185th anniversary of his birth. Tchaikovsky's creative legacy had a significant impact not only on Russian, but also on world culture. He is considered one of the most prominent representatives of musical romanticism of the 19th century, and his works are still performed in concert halls, conservatories, theaters and operas in many countries.
During the lesson, schoolchildren and college students will learn about Tchaikovsky's life and work. The children will also discuss the importance of art for a person, its role in shaping personality, developing society and maintaining a dialogue between representatives of different cultures.

During the lesson, students of all ages will be shown two educational videos. The video "Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. 185 years old" is dedicated to the personality and work of the great composer, his main works and the innovations that he brought to the music of his time. The second video, a video interview with Ada Einbinder, an employee of the Tchaikovsky Memorial Music Museum—Reserve, will touch on the universality of the language of classical music.
Elementary school students will learn about Tchaikovsky's childhood and family, in particular about his relationship with his parents, brothers and sisters. Children will also complete an interactive task and learn the names of famous works by the composer. At the end of the lesson, students in grades 1-2 will talk about how beauty manifests itself in the simplest things and events. Children from grades 3-4 will be offered to listen to two passages of Tchaikovsky's works that differ in mood and compare them by drawing their feelings from the melody.
Students in grades 5-7 will discuss why people are creative and what benefits art brings to everyone. Using Tchaikovsky's works as an example, students will learn about how music, painting, literature and other forms of art help preserve the history and traditions of nations. In conclusion, students will also be able to draw their impressions of two excerpts of Tchaikovsky's compositions and discuss the result with classmates.
The lesson with students in grades 8-11 will touch upon the topic of artificial intelligence in creativity and the use of modern technologies in the creation of works of art. The students will also talk about how art serves the benefit of society and what role it plays in shaping the country's international prestige. At the end of the lesson, students will be given the opportunity to speak on how to keep young people interested in classical music and teach the new generation to understand art.

"Conversations about important things" is a cycle of extracurricular activities launched by the Ministry of Education in 2022. During the lessons, which take place every Monday, schoolchildren and college students will learn about the history, government, geography and culture of Russia. Current issues of daily life, such as choosing a future profession, relationships with peers, parents, etc., are also discussed with students.
The previous lesson, dedicated to the anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia and the 100th anniversary of the Artek Children's Center, was devoted to the history of the peninsula and the legendary camp that raised more than one generation of pioneers.
