The British eco-activist movement Just Stop Oil has announced the end of the protests. This was reported on March 27 by the Reuters news agency, citing a statement from the movement.

The agency noted that representatives of the movement are known for high-profile actions, such as throwing soup at a Van Gogh painting in the National Gallery of London, as well as disrupting sports and theatrical events. At the same time, the organization promised that it would hold its last demonstration on April 26, 2025.

"As corporations and billionaires corrupt political systems around the world, we need a different approach," Just Stop Oil said in a statement.

It is noted that many of the activists were sentenced to prison terms. Critics of the movement claimed that these actions were pointless and only caused inconvenience to residents.

In addition, the protest organization stated that it had already created "a significant amount of unrest and public unrest."

Earlier, in January, activists of the Just Stop Oil movement left orange paint inscriptions on the grave of English scientist Charles Darwin in Westminster Abbey. It was noted that two elderly British women took part in the protest. They left the inscription "1.5 degrees dead" on the tombstone.
