The UAE is extraditing two fraud suspects at Russia's request.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is extraditing Sergei Istomin and Nikitas Omarov, accused of criminal fraud, to Moscow. This was reported on March 27 on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia.

It is specified that Istomin worked as deputy director of a company for the production, transmission and distribution of steam and hot water in the Sverdlovsk region. In total, from 2019 to 2021, he stole more than 7 million rubles intended for resource supply organizations. The accused withdrew funds from the company's turnover through the settlement accounts of enterprises under his control.

He also stole about 570 thousand rubles, which he received from organizations as a subsidy from the local budget. Istomin is charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by a person using his official position on an especially large scale") and Part 3 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by a person using his official position on a large scale").

Omarov, in turn, embezzled more than 12 million rubles, posing as a relative of a deceased equity participant in several companies. According to the investigation, together with his accomplices, he provided the heads of organizations with false documents allegedly indicating that he had the right to inherit, and received dividends from them.

Omarov is charged under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, on an especially large scale").

"The accused escaped from law enforcement agencies, and on behalf of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, they were put on the international wanted list...>Sergey Istomin and Nikitas Omarov, accompanied by employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia and the National Security Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, will be taken to Moscow," the ministry said in a statement.

On February 7, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office announced that Turkey, at the request of the Russian side, would extradite Olim Makhmudov, accused of murder and robbery, to Moscow. The man was put on the wanted list in 2011, it was established that he was in Turkey. A request for his extradition was sent to this country.
