A warehouse with counterfeit alcohol worth more than 9 million rubles was discovered near Kirov

Police officers in the Slobodsky district of the Kirov region found a warehouse with counterfeit and unmarked alcoholic beverages, the total cost of which exceeds 9.3 million rubles. This was announced on March 27 at the Russian Interior Ministry.

In this regard, a man born in 1964 was detained, he is suspected of purchasing, transporting, storing and selling unmarked alcoholic beverages.

"During the inspection of the premises, rum, whiskey, cognac, vodka and brandy of various names were found. There were no excise taxes on some of the bottles, while others had fake stamps," the department's Telegram channel says.

The total value of the seized products exceeded 9.3 million rubles. An expert examination is currently underway. A criminal case has been opened under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 6 of Article 171.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the ministry added.

Earlier, on December 4, 2024, employees of the Department of the Federal Security Service (UFSB) of Russia in the Kherson region stopped an attempt to sell counterfeit and unmarked tobacco products on an especially large scale. During the search activities, law enforcement agencies found more than 189 thousand packs of goods that do not have excise stamps. Their total cost is more than 24 million rubles.
