Painting during the repair of the car body will be more expensive for cars in unusual, exotic colors, for example, such as "Powdery gray" or "Mint cloud". Yaroslav Kukarin, the head of two body repair stations in the Fit Service car service network, told about this on March 27.

According to the expert, the difference in price is not related to the shade, but to the chemical composition of the paint, the presence of complex pigments and additional effects. The expert called the most affordable option simple monophonic enamels without metallic and mother-of-pearl, which are mass-produced, widely represented in the palette of most car brands and do not require complex selection. For example, white acrylic enamel, suitable for Toyota or Nissan models from the early 2000s, costs about 2 thousand rubles per liter.

"But you have to pay more for complex coatings. As an example, we can take the sky-blue shade popular with Chinese brands with the addition of mother-of-pearl particles (xeralic). Its price starts from 10 thousand rubles per liter, which is five times more expensive than the usual white color." — quotes Kukarin "Rossiyskaya Gazeta".

It is most difficult to restore coatings containing several layers of varnish, metallic or pearlescent additives. Minor damage may lead to the need to repaint the entire part with a smooth transition to neighboring elements. In other words, if a car with a basic white or gray body can only be painted on the damaged area, then the adjacent parts will have to be additionally painted in a complex shade. This increases the cost of materials and the cost of the painter's work.

The day before, auto expert Vadim Strelbitsky said that with the arrival of spring, many car owners encounter unexpected breakdowns that went unnoticed in winter. The expert named the effects of corrosion as one of the main problems.

On March 24, expert Alexander Smith called the protection of the car body a mandatory procedure with the onset of spring. He explained that after winter, traces of reagents and salt, which are sprinkled on the roads, remain on the surface of the car. You should also inspect the body for chips or scratches and fix them in a timely manner.
