A motorcycle rally dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII) will be held in New Delhi on April 5. This was reported to Izvestia on March 27 at the Russian Embassy in India.
The solemn event was organized by the Embassy and the Russian House in New Delhi in cooperation with the DBBR Motorcycle Association with the support of the city administration. In total, about 200 motorcyclists, including citizens of Russia and India, will take part in the race.
The memorial run will take place along a scenic route: The Russian Embassy – The Indian Gate – The National War Memorial – the Russian House. Russian and Indian rock bands will perform on this day, as well as a presentation of motorized rifle units of the Red Army in World War II and a photo exhibition "Motorcycles in the service of the Soviet Army."
Earlier, on March 23, Markus Baisicht, a German lawyer and organizer of actions for friendship between countries, told Izvestia that it was also planned to organize a similar rally in Germany in connection with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory on May 9.
