The Bundestag committee declared Germany's unwillingness to defend itself

Neither Germany nor any other country in Europe is able to defend itself. This was stated on March 27 by Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, chairman of the Bundestag's defense committee, on ARD TV channel.
"I don't think you understand that we are unable to defend Germany. By the way, no country in Europe is able to defend itself," she said.
According to her, it is easy to say that 1% of GDP allocated to defense spending currently amounts to €44 billion. However, everything else in Germany is financed by debt.
The chairman of the Bundestag committee drew attention to the fact that if nothing changes in the country, a large amount of money will be useless.
Earlier, on March 1, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann said that Europe should strengthen its independence from the United States. According to her, the investment bank of Europe may issue bonds that can later be invested in the extraction of rare earth metals, which will help Ukraine. But in order to implement such measures, the European Union and Ukraine need to sign a certain agreement.
