A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Ministry of Defense reported that Russian air defense systems destroyed a MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force, two JDAM guided aerial bombs, as well as a HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) manufactured in the United States, and 137 aircraft-type drones.
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation also defeated the infrastructure facilities of the military airfield, the production buildings of the weapons enterprise of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex (MIC) and the workshops for the manufacture of attack UAVs in 157 districts.
In addition, units of the Center group of forces improved their tactical situation by striking formations of mechanized, assault brigades, unmanned systems brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), a marine brigade and a National Guard brigade in six districts of the DPR.
The enemy's losses amounted to up to 465 military personnel, two armored combat vehicles, two vehicles and three field artillery guns, the military added.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, 660 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 48,599 unmanned aerial vehicles, 601 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,511 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,532 multiple rocket launchers, 23,011 field artillery guns and mortars, 33,388 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
