Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk closed the parliament session after an unsuccessful attempt by deputies to summon ministers to find out the details of the fossil agreement with the United States. This was announced on March 27 by People's Deputy of Ukraine Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

"I spoke in the parliament on the issue of disrespect for parliament and the new agreement on mineral resources. I disrupted the next meeting," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

The deputy called the text of the draft terrible. According to him, this is a big and clear agreement, but not towards Ukraine.

Zheleznyak also stressed that the text of the agreement does not mention security guarantees.

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky were supposed to conclude a deal on rare earth metals on February 28, but as a result of an altercation at the White House, the signing was canceled. On March 2, the head of the Kiev regime said he was still ready to sign the deal and hoped to save relations with the United States.

Trump announced on March 20 that the United States would soon sign a mining deal with Ukraine.

On March 26, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that Washington had already handed over the financial version of the document on economic cooperation to Kiev. According to him, Ukraine may sign the agreement as early as next week.
