Last year, 259 premieres were held in the capital's theaters, said Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to him, since 2013, the construction, reconstruction, restoration and overhaul of 103 buildings and premises in 41 city theaters have been completed. At the same time, work was underway to re-equip the buildings.

"Directors and artists get new opportunities to realize their creative plans. The audience appreciates this," the mayor said, adding that as a result, the popularity of theaters is growing.

By 2030, nine more buildings are going to be renovated in the capital, including the Moscow Operetta Theater, the Hermitage Theater and the Taganka Theater.

The city is also working on forming a talent reserve for theaters: various competitions are held for this purpose. For example, the winners of the All-Russian open competition "Talents" will be able to apply for the positions of artistic directors or directors in the future.

The support of creative youth is also of great importance. Thus, participants of the Open Stage competition can receive a grant for staging performances and working with musical projects and programs.
