The possible start date of Lada Niva Sport sales has become known.
The classic Lada Niva Sport SUV will go on sale on April 5, Niva's birthday. Such deadlines were announced to AvtoVAZ dealers, the Avtotok Telegram channel reported on March 27.
Lada Niva Sport features sporty suspension and brake settings, as well as an original powertrain. It is equipped with a 1.6-liter 16-valve engine from Granta Sport with a capacity of 122 hp. The acceleration time from zero to "hundred" for the Niva Sport has been reduced by five seconds compared to the classic Niva Legend, and the top speed has increased by 20 km/ h.
The engine is located longitudinally and is aggregated with an upgraded mechanical transmission (reinforced fifth gear gears are used, the clutch housing is reinforced, and a single-lever transfer case drive is used).
It is planned that Niva Sport will receive another small-scale version called Silk Way in honor of the Silk Road rally raid.
The Lada Sport division, to which AvtoVAZ supplies painted Niva bodies, will assemble the new modification. Pre-production of the model began at the end of December last year.
The day before, it was reported that Lada Granta family cars will receive the maximum #Club package with an expanded list of options. It is distinguished by the presence of a climate control system and other equipment.
