202 road accidents have occurred in Russia over the past 24 hours.

Over the past day, 202 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 23 people were killed and 252 injured. 20 of the dead were passengers and drivers. This was reported to Izvestia on March 27 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
20 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which there were no fatalities, but 23 road users, including one child, needed medical help. Five bus accidents were caused by traffic violations by their drivers.
As a result of 55 accidents, 23 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 32 outside their area of operation, three pedestrians were killed, 53 more were injured in various degrees of severity. For example, in Cherkessk, a 30-year-old car driver ran over a 70-year-old female pedestrian crossing the roadway outside the designated area. At the same time, the nearest regulated pedestrian crossing is only 20 meters from the accident site. An elderly woman is hospitalized.
Over the past day, 31 accidents involving minors were registered, as a result of which 29 young road users were injured, including 11 pedestrians, six of whom were injured at pedestrian crossings, 11 child passengers, a cyclist and four motor transport drivers. Two children were killed: a pedestrian child and a driver of an individual mobility vehicle.
So, in Balashikha, Moscow region, in the evening, the driver of a city shuttle bus traveling without passengers ran over a five-year-old boy returning from kindergarten accompanied by his mother. A young pedestrian was running across the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. As a result of the accident, the child died.
In the city of Sol-Iletsk, Orenburg region, a 13-year-old schoolboy, driving an electric scooter with an engine power of 600 Watts in the evening, did not provide an advantage in traffic when turning left at an adjustable intersection and collided with a passenger car moving towards him. The sixth-grader operated the means of individual mobility without a motorcycle helmet and any protective equipment. The teenager died. The electric scooter he was riding at the time of the incident was purchased by his parents as a birthday present.
The State Traffic Inspectorate drew parents' attention to the need to ensure maximum safety of children during spring break, a period when schoolchildren who are resting from classes spend a lot of free time on the street, and as a result, they are more likely to get into car accidents. Lack of control over the behavior and leisure of children, especially in the evening, often leads to injuries or even death of young road users.
Parents were urged to strictly monitor and prevent, rather than encourage, attempts by children and adolescents without experience, confident driving skills and solid knowledge of traffic regulations to use means of individual mobility, and even more so to drive on public roads. It is always necessary to cross the roadway on the SIM only by dismounting at a pedestrian crossing.
"When driving in a populated area or near pedestrian crossings, drivers need to be extremely careful and reduce their speed as much as possible in order to react to a possible sudden change in the road situation. With the onset of the spring period, motorists and drivers of urban public transport should be especially careful when passing intersections, since the behavior of child pedestrians, as well as underage drivers using bicycles, scooters and personal mobility equipment, is often unpredictable due to age and characteristics of child or adolescent psychology," the head of the Department of road Safety propaganda told Izvestia. traffic and prevention of children's road traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that Russian driver's licenses may be recognized as valid for driving vehicles in China. Dmitry Zverev, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, said at a plenary meeting in the Federation Council that the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia are discussing the recognition of driver's licenses with China.
